sometimes i wish parents would pay more attention to this stuff, THEY may be old enough to just trash their bodies, but we still have a long life to live, and this is one of the reasons i'm taking up free running, to be active, and that's why i made the pushup thread, to encorage others

i hope we can all help one another improve our lives, does anyone know any quick and healthy things shadow can make? o.o sorry, i'm at a loss as i don't know what you have on hand

I'm fairly active.

On days where I get to hang out with my friends I generally walk 4-8 miles a day,
not counting the running around I do.
xP

I work out at the gym once a week but I'm gonna try to work out there much more frequently.

Every morning I do 45 push-ups and this exercise which is like a push-up but on a chair for 45 times.
and I do the same at night.

I'm kinda lucky with that. I walk to school (about half a mile or something like that), and when i hang out with my friends we walk about 4- 5 miles.
About the smoking.. My dad smokes, but i usually go to my room and my dad opens the windows a bit, so..

After mom found out about her diabetes, I went on a health/fitness stage. Then I slacked off when I started working. Maybe I should start again.

I fail at this thread.  I am about 20lbs under weight, I had just quit smoking in June or July but my room mate broke the "no smoking in the house" rule enough times to get me started again.  Aside from that, I don't eat fast food and try to avoid soda.  I also try to limit the alcohol intake to a three drink max or perhaps just one scotch.  Hearing is another story.  Despite doubling and tripling up on hearing protection at work, being around helicopters will make me go deaf at a very young age.

I admit that I have slacked on PT quite a bit, lately.

BON, if you're getting light headed from physical activity, I suggest you go see a specialist.  Other than that, to gain weight you could try to eat a lot of carbs.  Breads, potatoes, corns, and don't cut out the fat or sugar content.  As long as you're not consuming a pound of sugar a day, you should be good.  The same does not apply to those who are over weight.  I know I end up eating 5% of my weight in meats and starches daily just to sustain my 115lbs.

thanks for sharing jess :D

and just wondering, but what's a full workout for you all?

i can't seem to get a 'burn' when i run or lift, my arms and legs just sort of stop working at a point and an hour later they work again O.o it's frickin annoying, but it works ca's the amount i can lift is going up, so it's all good.

and if I'm at school then i jog/walk for 30 min then do 45 min of lifting and pulling, sometimes 10 or so min on a speed bag, but that's going to go way up when i get back from vacation, and as for right now, I'm at home on vacation, so i don't really have a workout I'm doing, i just do push ups and other stuff when i get bored

My workouts rotate.  Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I Run 5 to 8 miles depending on the exercise.  Mondays I do what I call a Hangover run.  8 to 10 miles at an airborne shuffle.  That's an 8 to 10 minute mile pace.  Wednesdays I do 60-120s.  Run for sixty seconds, walk or jog for 120.  Do this for ten reps.  Then I sprint all out for as long as I can.  Fridays I do a five mile run.  After every half mile I do 30 push-ups and 30 sit-ups.

Tuesdays and Thursdays I do muscle failure.  I'll rotate pushups, situps, flutter kicks, side-straddle hops (Jumping jacks), and any variety of all of those until I can't move.  Then I to one more set of each.

Saturdays I go to the gym and do strength training or swim.

Sundays I rest.

I'll also replace running with swimming if it is raining too heavily or if my knees aren't up to the task of running my routes.

Um... Last time I was weighed it was 130 lbs., but that was in September, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Umm.. this is not related to what you guys are talking about, but it is related with health so.. here goes..

Can anybody help me?
I'm not sleeping that much, 'cuz I wake up two or three times per night, and and can't fall asleep again for 20 to 30 minutes; i just sleep 4 or 5 hours and it's hitting me hard: I get tired quickly, sometimes I can't think straight and sometimes I feel the same thing as Betrayer (really lightheaded, not be able to see and I also have to grab on to something or lean against a wall, because I feel like I'm gonna fall..)
This is going for 2 or 3 weeks now..

sorry if it's off topic, but i think this has something to do with the topic's topic (uh.. yeah...whatever..)

I'll give you a great two step solution:

1: get dressed
2: go to a doctor

if you EVER have a health problem that affects your ability to function in daily life, you go to a doctor, not a forum.

not trying to be rude, and no it wasn't off topic, but if it seriously affects your quality of life, go to a doctor as soon as you can.

Have you ruled out sleep apnea, hypopnea, or strees/pain/discomfort ?

it doesn't affect my quality of life seriously, it just happens sometimes when i stop sprinting in PE classes or when i get tired..

Have you ruled out sleep apnea, hypopnea, or strees/pain/discomfort ?

no, not really, i just wake up and cant fall asleep for some time..
