Taboo with the love of music
« on: April 11, 2009, 05:04:21 PM »
??? Should I g ive half a thought to weither my faimly supports the music that I listen to or not.
What's wrong with listening to the works of art by Offspring, Coldplay, Nickelback, Greenday, and even The Diary Of A Dead Man.
Post Script: I was creeped out by this music video, "Quiet As A Mouse," on Crackle but it still pretty great! :shcoked: :) :P

Heh, my parents would probably smack me if they knew about some of the stuff I listen to. They don't support my music choices at all, but it's really not a big deal. It's just music, and I want to listen to whatever makes me feel happy. And you should do the same. I just don't play my music around them, or I wear headphones.

My mom doesnt like a lot of music I listen to, and I think a lot of it is pretty toned down and good, she absolutely hates things with lots of swears like Mindless Self Indulgence, but I just dont listen to it when shes around.

You should look at it this way, they grew up listening to COMPLETELY different music, and oftentimes people dont like things out of their own norm or what they have established as what they like. I dont like my moms 70s and 80s music, she doesnt like my 00s music. Its kinda like your friends, are you really all that concerned with whether you like their music and you like theirs? Everyone has different likes, oh well, respect it, move on, and dont disrespect them by playing things they absolutely hate.

You got something against smooth jazz? Sometimes I just don't wanna hear any person singing and relax. (Snort)

? I'm sorry! I didn't mean to dis anything, just saying that I listen to it when I need to draw or other calm stuff. I listen to a mash of a bunch of alternitive rock, metal, and some techno other times. (Hugs Zinc)

In fact, my parents think it's a bit strange how I take such a fond outlook on the Classical genre, but in a good way.

Of course, most other kids think it's old people music.

my parents dislike my love for emo, hardrock, punk and metalcore (and more stuff like that), but its not up to them to judge over the music i listen to. it should never be.. you should just listen to the music you enjoy most : )

its just a genre of music.. like, rock music if you will.. the lyrics tend to be angsty and emotional. that's about all i can really explain about it. its commonly a sublable though.. like, a post-hardcore song can still be emo. example is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAvYXcJV3sA

honestly, its hard to find songs that have really been labeled emo by the artist.. my chemical romance for example, they are commonly called emo, but actually dislike the label themselves.. i call it emo because most people will know what sort of music someone's talking about.. most people wil know its the angsty kinda music.
2 examples of "emo" artists are; Fall Out Boy and Funeral for a Friend.. but it really comes in all possible ways, and i dislike to use the label myself to be honest, but its a easy way to let people know what kinda songs you're thinking about.

/off-topic

sorry for the vagueness of the description, its getting late, and im getting tired :P
