I've had a similar problem.

My first boyfriend and mate felt completely like my soul-mate.
 But it was not to be; He left me.

The next mate I had was brilliant. And the relationship was fantastic whilst it lasted, but in the end it fizzled out.
 But still, to this day, I am still deeply in love with my first mate, and he knows it. My second mate was great, but he didn't
feel like my first. Sure, I was happy with him, but with my first there was just something extra special.

(I do not count my relationship with Donovan as a relationship at all, since it was so false and quick.)

Well I'm glad I am not alone on that feeling... but in more uplifting news, me and my girlfriend met for the very first time on Sunday and we went out on a date to Red Lobster and went to the movies. It was one of the best days in my life, this is my first ever "official" girlfriend The best part is her parents trusted me, even though her dad was very hesitant and protective, i guess my urge to be responsible and standing by for making sure everyone was taken care of during our lunch meeting between my family and her family. It felt like they seemed to approve of me *at least I hope* ^^;
