Beginning of the End

[Gáire]

Ears twitching at the wolf's words, she covered her maw. Could that have been her father? But he hadn't returned for her yet - she always assumed he was dead.

Now, however, there was a wolf claiming to have a fox for a daughter. How many wolves had foxes for children?

She scooted out from behind her hiding place, her tail bristled. The wolf before her was older-looking than her father had been, and had several scars that she couldn't remember her father having.

[Artemis]

He crepts inside the house, slowly trying to avoid detection, while trying to listen in on the conversation between them

[Dr. Strange]

She froze, staring at him. "What?" A sudden queasiness and longing for home made her stumble. "I, guess you could see her..." She replied in a hollow voice, stepping aside so Gáire could be seen fully. Her fur flattened and she slinked off to the corner of the room, plopping down with a soft thump.

[Chrono Blackwyng]

The wolf almost dropped his sledgehammer when he saw the fox "Gáire...is that really you...or just another case of mistaken identity?"

[Asia Kali Yusufzai]

The rabbit gasped at the sudden turn of events, but immediately covered his mouth, hoping nobody heard amidst all the commotion. Internally, he screamed with laughter.

[Gáire]

Inside, she was bursting with joy. But a small speck of suspision pricked at her heart. "Dad.... Why didn't you come back?" She whispered, her voice growing steadily louder. "I've been waiting for you!"

She sprang up and wrapped her arms around her fathers waist. "I've been waiting for you..." Tears whelled up in her eyes.

"Because I was stupid enough to leave you and go monster hunting, earning a few scars, a stronger body, and alot of personal grief for abandoning my daughter..." The wolf replied, almost on the verge of tears...

[Gáire]

OoC: So sad! xD

BiC: Suddenly, a screech echoed throughout the town. Gáire tucked her ears down and grabbed her father tighter, the sound penetrating her ears. Her tail fluffed up, she glanced outside of the window. To her horror she saw people running down the streets with scarlet serpents chasing after them. They were about ten feet long, with venemous barbs on their tails and backs.

"Vervii," she choked. Going to the window, she pressed her muzzle against it. "But the monsters never come into town.... Why now... ?"

Blood sprayed against the glass, and she jumped back. "We've got to get out of here."

[Chrono Blackwyng]

"Correction, you have to get out of here with the food I brought you, I will put my skills to work and clean up this attack" The wolf replied as he walked outside and drew out his gauss rifle, taking a well-aimed shot at the serpent, knocking it unconsious, if better, dead.

[Gáire]

"O-okay," she stuttered, grabbing the food her father had brought her. She motioned to the jaguar. "Come on - we have to get out of here!"

Asia stood up, and searched the room in a final sweep to find supplies before he left.

[Dr. Strange]

Hearing the painful screech, Kahlua leaped to her feet and slammed into what was left of the door. Several of the serpents stopped and turned toward her, hissing hungrily. As though she could hear the screaming of Gáire and her father, the panther ran outside, darting through the streets with the ugly snakes on her feet.

(For the record, I never screamed)
The wolf jumps on another snake, and pulling out his desert eagle, empties a few rounds into its head, and as he gets off the falling serpent, he looks at the panther. "As far as I can tell, you're the closest she has to a mother, I can't let you join this fight..."

Once the rabbit had gathered a stack of bullets and a half eaten sandwich, he leaned out the window to take in the view. Hearing the wolf and seeing the panther run past, he called down, "She's apparently already in the fight whether you like it or not, Mr Veggy." The rabbit flashed a smile before leaping to the neighbouring rooftop.

[Dr. Strange]

(Neither of you did, she imagined it.)
The panther stopped, chest heaving as she gulped air. "I can take care of myself, thank you." Her eyes flashed in a dangerous display of raw power as she looked the wolf up and down. "You abandoned her, it's your job to watch over her now." She shot moodily, jumping back and slashing open an advancing snake.
