I get what you mean Scautty. I wouldn't call myself a dedicated furry. You'd never know I was one, even at a con. I can't afford a fursuit (not that I really want one). I'm the kid you find in a mosh pit or pwning n00bs on CoD. You can still go to cons without a suit, not everyone's a fan of dressing up. I'd love to go to one but where I live, furries are unheard of. This forum is probably the closest I will ever get to one.

 yeah one day I hope to go to a convention. I was thinking that I might go to the big one in philly after I graduate college and become a physisist. And yes I know its weird that I will be a furry physisist.

You do make a wonderful point, Jacen. I had almost forgotten to mention that, haha. It's quite correct I have the internet sanctuary in my room, but I don't know... I think it'd be alot of fun going to a con (Maybe after graduating like you, Moonraiser. Haha, a physisist and movie director at a con.  ) I'm almost exactly like you, Spike. I'm just kinda known to go to concerts and gettin' in the pit for the next breakdown. My closer friends take that as just a hobby (which it basically is) and not my life. But yes, I shall cherish this forum haven until I guess something happens.  Thanks Jacen, Spike, and Moonraiser.

Sometimes I think that the only people who actually know what a furry is are furries themselves. Other people just don't care or just judge people because they're furries.

Ithink the internet can only go so far in connecting people (or atleast the internet in the most common sense of the word.) Knwoing people in real life has a different dynamic and far more layers. Either way both are good. I would love to go to a con, but i would only wear a tail and ears, and only if they're top quality.

Good words there. The interweb really only can display so much. That's why I like YouTube alot, for it's ability to give off expression through visual and audio, and not just text and emoticons. No matter how much I like them. 

But yes, going to a con would be extra fun. I'd have to go in full fursuit though, otherwise I'd feel incomplete.

yeah i would love to go to like a furry convention because it would be nice to finally be some where, were everyone accepts you and no one judges you. if Ive learned anything, Ive learned that furries are the nicest people in the world and other people dont see that because they see the bad side and the stereotypes

That's completely true. What's a better accepting place then somewhere full of accepting people? Then again, there's the money of getting there, staying, eating, and getting the goodies there too. I guess I could not eat for 3 days... Haha, just kiddin'. 

I guess having to wait for someone to figure it out is the hardest method. For two reasons, depending how you do it: If you WANT your friends to know, you go crazy not knowing how discreet you are about it. Sure, your friends know you draw them or make the costumes, but would it trigger? Second, if you just don't want people to find out, but if they do you'd rather not propose it yourself, you're stuck alone and isolated. It's kind of how I am now, no one knows how I really am, but I almost want to give off morsels of clues so they can figure it out. But I don't want it to seem like a big deal, like I'm hiding it from them for a reason, you know?

You haven't met TwitchyTheFoxBat yet, then. Sure, he is very nice. ...to furries. But to furry Nazis, he's an atomic bomb just waiting to explode. I mean sure, I have met alot of furry nazis, and every single one of them was a jerk, but this guy takes things too far. He even created his own word to classify all the furry nazis.

He's a little better now than he was before, though.

though i havent met any furries who arent nice, there's got to be some that are particularly mean... that said, the furry community has a surprising amount of nice people.
