Hello guys. As you can see, my username is Benny. You might know me in other places as either MugoUrth or Banoda. I came here because I wanted to try and have fun, and well, I'm not really a furry, but I usually hate the people who pick on you guys all the time. But when filling out my profile, I think I found out a good idea as to why you guys get picked on. Furry parents? Furry children? Furry pets? You don't really take that sort of stuff seriously, do you? I thought the only think you had to do to be a furry was to make your personal character an anthropromorphic animal. I didn't know you had to have kids or parents or such. Whatever.

I'm only going to be a furry HERE though. Everywhere else, my personal character shall be a Moai statue. I only want to be a furry in a furry forum. At least here I won't get hated just for being a furry like some of my friends on other forums are.

hey some people do things for diffrent reasons. if people can't deal with the way furries are then they can go (we can't really do much swearin an cussin here so i won't say it, but im sure you get the pictuire) the point is if people want to do what ever they can. that's kinda the point of an online community. also im sure most people don't really take it too seriously (i do because my brother that i listed in my profile is actually my blood brother (lol we play WoW and work on car's togeather))

I don't really think we take it that seriously, It's only on the forums and it's for your fursona. To help better develop your character. It's pretty much the same as all the actors out there playing characters. They create a family for themselves, give themselves a background etc.

and everyone is different in the furry fandom, it has different levels of meaning to different people, so some may take it seriously, where as other may just think it's for fun. It's like everywhere you go, not everyone in a group are the same. So you can't really generalise. Plus the furry fandom also sometimes gets mixed up with the therians as they are closely related. Adding to the confusion. I picture the furry fandom as a sub-society, it has lots of different sects and so is hard to understand until you've seen the big picture

Ah don't worry about it, there is someone on another forum who called me a Racist Animal Rapist ... and he's say I'd rape someone in a rabbit suit ... but it's only the one person, the other members where freaked out when I said what a Furry was, but they don't mind now

And the only thing that's ever really taken seriously (unless you have blood relatives on the forum) is 'mate', which would be someone's bf/gf/fiance/husband/wife. Other than that, it's mostly in fun.

Oh, and Youtube? Stay away from there, too. That place is also swarming with Furry Nazis.

Anyway, I decided yesterday to whip up a Happy Tree Friends version of my fursona, Benny the Almiraj. ... But it kinda came out creepy, and that wasn't what I was going for. Anyway, here it is.

You know, I really do not like Happy Tree Friends at all, but I guess I do like the adorable style. ...Maybe THAT'S why I don't like it.

This guy SWEARS his old fursona is not based off of Xweetok from NeoPoop, but I still wonder. What do you guys think? And yes, that's me down there annoying him about the issue. Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to be mean.

Oh i'm sure everyone knows about the opinions of the youtube community at large. Just like something awful, which is fun cus Shmorky (on of their most respected members and their resident animator) is a furry. They all know it but a lot of the major members dont mind since they like him, he's cool.

I love Happy Tree Friends. I have all the DVDs, mostly because of the commentary. In fact, the commentary is so good that on the 3rd DVD, it has commentary on the commentary.

As for the whole family thing, some people take it seriously, others dont, I was weirded out by it when I first saw it, (I mean being someone's pet I can understand, but not a parent) but then I thought, "huh, maybe it's asking about fictional people." I dont really care, I left that bit blank.

The furry community is ridiculously wide ranging, it's a very accepting community, so it's hard to really pin something down and say "This is the epitome of the furry fandom."
