Honestly,if his entire view of completely flips 180 cus you're a furry then I wouldnt think that he's worth your time. Be proud of yourself and most people dont tend to mind that much even if they are particularly anti-furry.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

Initial automation response... Screw im' O_o who needs people like that around?

But the Manual response (after thinking it over) If your friendship is really THAT important that you would rather live a lie, then by all means do it, I don't tell my friends I'm Bi, but honestly, it would prolly be better to just let them know then let them know you're not like the stereotype, or if you have to, rattle them a bit, they seem old enough to take some harsh language, let them know what you ******* think, that usually gets someone to stop and realize they're making an arse out of themselves

just my 2 cents

Don't worry about it if he really is your friend I'm sure he'll understand. : ) It's always best to tell the truth. Think about it, if your friend somehow found out without you telling him he might be really angry and not want to be friends, but if you tell him he might not get angry and not like it but would still support you. If for some reason he doesn't understand then he isn't a good friend anyway and you might want to explain everything about being a furry. Whether you tell or not is up to you though, but remember living a lie always makes things worse in the end. Whatever you decide, good luck.

Most people will except anything if and only if they're friends so don't worry. Good luck! Also if you ever need help just talk to me(or someone else doesn't matter really) and I'll do my best!

Don't worry some things take more time to get around to than others. Also It usually takes me a while to tell people anything. Well except when it comes to food. lol. Not sure if you like this kind of music but it helps me in bad times: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1eRQpvrq68 Its a song by Dragon Force called Where Dragons Rule. Couldn't find the song by itself though.

so he's searching out for videos that show why furries are gay? he's actually taking time out of his day to reinforce his stereotype? This could mean a lot of things.
Either A he has WAY too much time and not enough dignity and common sense in his head.
B: he already knows you're a furry and doesnt want to know
C: He's a furry in denial, like how gay guys bash gays for being gay
D: he's just a bad human being.

I'm probably completely wrong, but you need to think about whether he's worth the effort.

In my opinion, if he cannot accept you for who you are, he's not worth having. I mean, all my friends know that I have scaley characters, and I prefer playing animalistic characters rather than humans. We joke about the furry thing because I am a furry, but not to the extreme that people stereotype them as. They took the time to understand where I was coming from and realize what I am in comparison to that nasty classification that people give us. If he cannot do the same, then he's not truely a good friend, and it will cause problems in the future. As for gay bashing on furries and ect. with him.. That's only going to make your hole deeper and make the problem at hand less approachable. Think of something he likes, try relating it from that. Who knows, you might get his interest.

Yeah, he really sounds like he's not a "friend" worth having.
Friends accept you for who you are, no matter what. If he can't accept you being a furry and understand that not all furries are gay/bi/lesbian, then he's an idiot and not worth your time.
With me, I posted a blog on the "Definition of a Furry" on my Myspace. I had to work up some courage but then I just dove in head first and posted it. I don't know how many people have read it since I posted it however many months ago, but it's there for those of my friends who are interested in reading it.
I was also lucky that my mate is a big anime fan so he was used to the Furry-type characters in such things so it was easy for me to tell him and he actually decided that he was a Furry too.

So basically my point is, if he doesn't like/accept it then he's just not worth your time or friendship.
