Asia's ears flicked round to the direction of the whooping. It was intensely loud and dangerously close. Climbing onto a fallen fridge, he looked through a small porthole, and eyed the beast wailing out to his comrades.
"Ah nuts!" Asia exclaimed as he tumbled off the appliance and grabbed two heat emitters before sliding a cleaver into his belt. He stumbled and clambered through the ship, finding a gap in the hull, a foot above the ground, staring at the side of the beast. The wind flew into the hole, ruffling across Asia, but it was not this that caused his hairs to stand on end. The creature's body was toned and thick with short fur hugging his muscles. Asia breathed heavily, he could see it's ears swivel for any other sound but its own. Leaning against the wall, the rabbit had a million thoughts tear through his mind, both of plans and of panic. How in God's name am I to stop this bisonesque thing!? The idea was preposterous to him. He'd never killed a thing in his life save for pretend death in war games where it was all tactics and teamwork. This was completely different. He was stuck next to a monster with no choice but to silence it. Normally he would sneak up behind, but this wouldn't work here. The ears of the enemy were as good as Asia's own, and his nose was probably much better. He definitely couldn't call for help though I doubt they would not have noticed the noise, though they were further off. He'd have to do it; from range preferably and the cleaver wouldn't do enough. It would just make it run and keep whooping. All he had was the heat emitters.
They were essentially hotplates with thick cables attached, and were quite hefty. A good hit from one would certainly do damage. He decided that this was the only viable course of action and with a great breath pulling oxygen in to fuel the courage and calm the nerves, he began to swing the emitter round and round at his side. It clinked as it spun, gaining in volume in addition to speed and almost immediately, the animal took notice. It turned its head, grunting sniffing the air. Asia had no time to wait, no time to ready himself; he let the emitter fly out of his hand, and watched it arc through the air and crack against the skull of the beast.
It stumbled, it fell, the whooping had ceased, but it was not dead. It grumbled and growled, writhing in the dirt. Almost instinctively, Asia knew he couldn't leave an enemy to return to his army, and there was no POW camp here. Heaving the second emitter along, he raced to the downed beast, and brought the machinery against the great head, impacting with a crunch. It didn't work, so he did it again. Violent death throws suddenly coursed through the body, causing intense seizures, as a purple substance squirted across the ground, the same purple as its fur. Asia began to tremble, he didn't expect this, he hit it again and missed the head, hitting the torso. He hit it again, and again. A crunch accompanied the blood exploding out of the hideous spectacle, covering the emitter in thick viscous liquid. It stank. The whole place stank and the beast began to slow. Its breathing was erratic, but clearly slowing, stopping.
Asia's paw opened, and the emitter fell to the ground. With legs barely able to keep him steady, he turned, he ran; back into the ship, through the corridors, clambering through into a remote corner, away from the noise, away from the creatures, away from the people, away from his past, from his future, and away from the corpses.
