:3 I just wanted to say hi.

I feel like this is a personal add, and technically it is because you're auditioning for friendship online. It's odd but I like the strangeness of it. My name, LastoBethLammen, means "listen to the word of my mouth," in J.R.R. Tolkien's elvish.

A few weeks ago, I spent a ton of money on the extended versions of the LOTR movies. Last week, I spent more money on  the Matrix series. I'm extremely fond of both. I'm not sure what else to say.

Oh, and I have a confession. I don't know what I am yet. Furry-wise. Suggestions would be received with thanks, although I don't promise to use whatever is suggested. Just consider it. So far, at least.

Much thanks and geekiness,
LastoBethLammen

Hey Spike! I'm not sure what my favorite animal is. I like elephants & turtles a lot but I don't know if I'd want to be one.

lol I thought about being an elf or half-ling but I'm not sure if I'd count as a furry.

Dragons sound cool.

I talked with my friend a while ago and we threw around the idea of a cougar, so I think that's what I'll go with. So far I only have a sketch and a few photos, so I'll have to work on that.

cougars are fun, and halflings are pretty furry... atleast where the feet are concerned..

I have the lotr box set as well as the extended box set, and the matrix box set, and the alien quadrilogy and star trek and star trek DS9 and I need to get Star Wars (episodes 4-6) and I've got Dr. Who, and Torchwood and all sorts.... yeah I'm a massive geek.

also, if you know anything at all, even the slightest tinyest bit of info on how Dungeons&Dragons is played, then you'll probably enjoy this:

"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

well this dosn't apply to me since I have always had a liking for wolves, but an easy way to find your fursona would be asking yourself,"If I could be part animal what would be the animal part of me ?"

AsiaBunny, I bow down to your collection. That's radical. I've only just started collecting. I just got a job and am planning on saving as much as possible. I've only just gone over to the Trekkie side. Don't take me wrong, it has nothing to do with the movie. The change happened a few months ago when my ex and I started watching the episodes together. I do admit that Zachary Quinto is an awesome villain in Heroes, and was kinda cute in the new movie. I got the extended box set of LOTR without a box. It was on sale at Sam Goody's, as were the Matrix movies. I need to get the Animatrix, though. I was stunned to find that they didn't have it. Also, yes, I adore D&D. I'm not a big fan of video games, etc., but if my brothers are playing World of Darkness or Vampire the Masquerade, I always get involved or at least hang around to pick up tactics. I've been dying for someone to help me on all of it. I still suck. Oh, and I love Magic the Gathering as well. (Though, I admit, I also suck at that. x.x)

Moonraiser, thanks for that. I'm not sure of your exact meaning, but I'll just say that I took it completely wrong. If there's any time to say it, I admit that I "lol'd."

Gabag, I'm too young to drink pina coladas. Technically. (I've heard the song 50 times in the past week so I can't stop singing it, sorry.) But they're yummy. <.< Thanks. I always try to stand out. It's really easy now that I've had years of experience.

Cougars are fun, which is why I chose to be one over a lioness. I'm too sarcastic to fill the footprints of a lioness. I've just started figuring what to draw myself as, hair-wise, clothes-wise, etc. i might not have a proper picture up for another week. I do say, though, that I'm obsessed now that I've started with the Furry life. (hehe)

I havent got the animatrix either. It's an interesting thing to have because it's rather different to the movies. I cant remember what, but there is another animatrix style thing being made for something else and that's really all the information i have. that's the most useless thing i've said all day, i'm tired :P
I've been a trekkie all my life, but i only got interested in the first star trek when my sister bought it and we watched it together. It's so well written! and kirk's arms are huge!
When it comes to D&D, i'm really rather hopeless, because i just find it so hard to get into. It's like banging my head against peanut butter, making a bigger and bigger dent into it, but never really being able to properly get into it. There was a campaign going on in my anime society but there wasnt enough space and i didnt wanna just jump in and be bewildered by it all. But i do want to get into it, because my family used to do a cut down version of it, without most of the complexity, making it far more accessible.
I like magic the gathering too, i got pretty good at it as well, knowing how to properly balance a deck and what tactics to employ. It's still by far my favourite card game. I have that first computer game of it somewhere. It was an excellent game and didnt mess with the rules at any point. The end has you go against a guy with 100 hp, my brother got him down to 13 before he died. You're not supposed to completely kill him, but if you do then that just shows how awesome you are, so 13 is really really good. the only problem was we couldnt afford to buy loads more cards, so we only have the basic decks and one special green deck.

Thanks FeralFox! :D

AsiaBunny, there were always a few parts of the Animatrix that I didn't find so interesting, but yes, I'd love to own it. Saying that 'Animatrix-style thing' was so descriptive. I must say! Who wouldn't want to own something like that? It's spectacular! Exactly what I want. Teehee. Sorry. I can't help it.

Yeah, Kirk. Psh. I thought that most (if not all) geeks were lanky and lean. Who wouldn't love Shatner, though?
The first time I played D&D, my oh, so patient brother asked if I wanted to play. We ended up staying up until 5 in the morning (I was around 12, so that was a lot for me) and he told me basics of it. I believe we used a book, though, instead of a storyteller/whatever they're called.
The same for me with Magic the Gathering, although my brothers fought over how to teach me and what was too much. Euchre is a bit easier for me but I'll never stop loving Magic. I didn't know that there was a computer game. I don't know (and don't care for info) how many different sets/kinds of Magic cards there are. I know that there are the main elements & the works but I'm talking about Conflux or Shards of Alara. I can't keep up with it.

I fancy myself a geek but I did't make an effort to keep being geeky once my brothers went away. One's in Kenya on a service trip for his Bonars Scholorship for college and my other brother moved back to Arizona to live with my dad. Plus, my cousin went off to the marines. Eh. It's like I'm meant to be alone. :/ I was really close with my brothers.
