((Backstory for Random below, if you want to know why he's so F'd up))
Random had walked a ways when he came upon a hospital. It was tall and loomed over him almost menacingly. 'Maybe they can stop these visions,' Random thought looking at the doors. Rain suddenly began to pour down on him, causing him to become drenched almost instantly. His fur was droopy and his face was held down a little, his shoulders sagged.
Thunder rang out across the streets, echoing into the distance. The sound made him jump, and he shivered as he looked around. There were shadows of figures everywhere, all around him, moving, watching. They were just out of visibility and looked as though they were intent on fighting Random.
"It's just my imagination," Random said over and over to himself. "It's just my imagination." He closed his eyes to try and get rid of the horrifying sight, but when he closed his eyes, instead of darkness, he saw a memory, of when he was a child.
He stood in his old living room, his mother holding him by the shirt collar, "What did you say to me!" she yelled before slapping him across the face. Tears ran down his face, cold, down his chin and fell to the floor. "What did you say?"
"I said you should stop drinking," Random mumbled out, choking on his sadness and pain. His mother slaps him again.
"Did you say, I should stop drinking! Why you ungrateful little," she said before picking him up by the collar and throwing him sideways into a wall. "It's your fault I drink, if you weren't such a f*** up, then I wouldn't be so f***ing upset."
Random's breathing was choppy as he lifted himself to his feet.
"Now apologize you little b****!" she yelled towering over him. "Say it!"
"No," Random mumbled.
"What was that?" she said pulling him close to her with a hand on the back of his neck, squeezing.
"I said, NO!" Random yelled through clenched teeth. She had had enough. His mother put both hands on the front of Random's neck and began to tighten her grip, strangling him.
"You never talk back your mother!" she yelled as he struggled pointlessly against her grip. Everything began to spin, and he felt his arms weaken. Slowly he drifted off, slowly to sleep.
He opened his eyes to see that he was still standing in front of the hospital door but someone was now there, a girl, she appeared to be nurse. She snapped her fingers in front of him, and was saying something, but it was muffled. Slowly, everything began to become clear and he could understand what the girl was saying.
"Sir, are you alright, sir, sir, are you alright?" she said over and over again.
"Yes, I'm fine," Random lied, and smiled at her.
"Oh thank god, another minute and I was going to get a doctor and a stretcher," the girl joked.
"Thanks," Random said rubbing the back of his head.
"No problem," she replied smiling. She was dripping from the storm that still raged, and Random was starting to feel cold. "So if you don't mind me asking, why are you standing out here?"
"Uh, well, I was thinking about seeing if there was anything you guys could do about a problem I'm having," Random said walking towards the hospital doors.
"Well what's your problem?"
"Many years ago, I slipped bad PCP, and ever since, I've been having visions, and it's becoming a problem. It's why I was standing out there."
"I'm sorry, I don't think we can fix that."
"Oh," Random replied, his ears drooping.
"You poor thing, what's your name?"
"Most people just call me Random."
"Random, well that's odd, but okay," she replied mildly surprised. "What's your real name?"
Random thought for a second, "Alfred, my name is Alfred."
"Well, Alfred, or Random, nice to meet you, I'm Alice," she said offering her hand to him.
Random shook her hand, and smiled back. "Nice to meet you Alice. However, I should be going."
"What for?" she replied with.
"I don't want to keep you from your job," Random lied, 'I just want to be alone for a little while.'
"Okay," she said with her ears dropping also. "Well nice meeting you, have a safe walk home."
"Thanks," Random said nodding his head and exiting the hospital. He walked back towards the apartment, but saw Spike as he did so.
"Hey Spike, what're you doing here?"
