SPike turned the corner at an alarming speed he'd looked back in the mirror trying to see if Jay was still in pursuit of him but unable to see past the black smoke of his tires. He looked forward, his eyes bulged. He was about to get into a head on collision with a familiar looking Skoda with a familiar looking driver. Spike slammed on the brakes, the flat tires screeching against the pavement. Spike's car was thrown into a spin before it caught air. It all seemed so slow to Spike but the event laster no longer than a moment. Spike was crunched on the roof of the upside down getaway car, staring right at the onsoming Skoda. He closed his eyes, waiting for impact.

"well the number 60 is gonna be unloaded at nine.... aand, then we gotta unload the number 46 later... CHRIST LOOK OUT!" Kistrev swung left as a car drove head-first against traffic and spun into a collision course with him.... swinging violently to the left Kistrev missed the upturned car, the rear of the Skoda fishtailing to the right clipped the crashed vehicle, spinning the skoda right into a delivery truck... With a shattering smash the delivery van drove into a lampost, newspapers scattered across the scene.... Kitt and Jake both climed out of the damaged Skoda, Jake checking the vehicle over while Kistrev tried to explain to an outraged van driver that it hadnt been his fault, and that beating him in wasnt the best idea....

With a crash several other vehicles pilled up into overturned vehicles, several people where screaming in a flaming saloon, while others tried to get them out before the flames consumed the vehicle...

"SPOSTACH, DEBIL, NO VSED ZA DAST!"
Kistrev ran up to the overturned car that had caused the crash, kneeling down he tried to pull open the door to help out the driver...
"jeez, you okay? just dont move and... and..."
It was then that Kistrev saw who it was, set in stark contrast against the dulling flames and settling dust and debris, Spike Gambino stared out from the crushed car...

Jay drove around the corner at high-speed, but heard the sounds of the crash before he smashed into the piled up cars, so he was able to slow down enough before reaching the crash site to climb out normally. The bunny reaches for the police radio, calling more officers to the scene while he tries to subdue Gambino. He walks up to the upside-down car (on the other side from Kistrev, so he doesn't see the feline), bending down to the paasenger-side window which was completely smashed, "Innocent people don't run Spike" The rabbit grins and pulls out a pair of handcuffs, the sounds of sirens (whether police or ambulance, he's not sure) sound faintly in the distance.

Spike looked to the feline, then at the rabbit. Blood was spurting from his nose. He was stuck, the door was too damaged to open and he was upside down, his head crushed under his own weight as he was in a cumpled mess. Gasoline started to pool around the car, smoke began to leak from the engine. Spike had broken several bones, his arm, leg, and possibly have sustained a head injury. "Who are you?" He asked unable to remember either of them.

Jay takes in Gambino's beat up condition, "Spike, can you hear me Spike?" He called over some of the paramedics from the ambulance that had just arrived, "Quickly, get him out of there!" As the medics pulled the fox out of the wrecked car and loaded him onto a stretcher, the rabbit walks with them, slipping a pair of handcuffs onto the dazed under-boss, effectively chaining him to the gurney. The FBI agent climbs into the back of the ambulance with Gambino and the paramedics, flashing his badge so no questions would be asked, he muttered to himself, "You're not getting away from me this time..." As the doors close, Jay looks out and spot Kistrev in the crowd - the rabbit merely tips his hat the feline as the ambualnce pulls away, siren blaring, on its way to the nearest hospital.

Kistrev watched Jay take away Gambino, shocked, dazed and bleeding he slumped backwards with a hollow thunk against the mangled wreckage of the under-boss's car... putting a paw to his ear and side of his head, crimson blood dripped from his grey fur... He stood ungainly, brushing away a concerned looking paramedic and found Jake beside the Skoda...

"looks like she'l be a'right then Kistrev.. jeez you okay? your kinda bleeding quite a bit... look you sit down and i'l get ya a paramedic okay? no shut up you feline and sit down here and wait fer me...."

Kistrev, grumbled somthing about what Jake could do with the paramedic as he sat down onto the curbside, a wolf paramedic hurrying over to him amidst the crashed cars....

Spike opened his eyes. He was in a hospital bed covered in bloody bandages and unable to see straight. He could move and feared he was paralyized. He moved his fingers a little, stuggling to get feeling in his legs. He looked to his left, the same agent who pulled him out of the car was sitting next to the bed in a chair and seemed to have dozed off. He looked down at his wrist to see a chain link attached to the bed and dropped his head against the pillow, letting out a light chuckle. There was a knock at the door. It slowly opened and a nurse popped her head in. She smiled and opened the door the rest of the way, through it, both of Spike's kids ran in. They were no taller than her wasite followed by Mrs. Gambino, in tears. "Daddy!" The little foxes screamed. Spike put his finger to his lips and pointed at Jay asleep in the chair. His two children immiedaitely hushed. Spike covered the handcuffs with the edge of the blanket to hide them from his kids. "Who's that, papa?" Spike's oldest son asked looking at the rabbit. Spike looked over at Jay. "That's the man who saved me, Daniel." He said with a smile.

Jay wakes up at the sounds of happy children, a smile creeps across his face as he opens his eyes slowly, not wanting them to know that he was awake yet. When the fox spoke, "That's the man who saved me..." the rabbit suppressed a sad laugh - some saviour he was, it was going to be awkward explaining those handcuffs to a wife and kids...

For now, however, he was content to let them have their reunion; he would let them be happy that Spike was safe, for now.

Spike's wife came up to his bedside, she pulled out a small tin of brownies and snuck them under the sheets. "I know how terrible the hospital food is, hun, so I brought you something you'd like." She smiled. Spike reached out and wrapped his free arm around her and his kids. She gave him a kiss and pushed the kids away towards the door. "Let's let daddy get some rest, ok?" She said blowing Spike a kiss. Spike smiled back and caught the kiss in his hand. She left the room, closing the door behind herself. Spike looked down at the cookie tin under the blanket. He pulled it out and struggled to get it open with one hand. He finally pryed off the top and pulled out one of his wife's famous brownies. He chewed and pulled another one out, holding it toward the sleeping Jay. "Want one?"

The rabbit looks out from behind a floppy ear that had fallen in front of his face, giving a smile now, "Sure, thanks" he walks over to the side of the bed, accepting the brownie and looking down at the fox. On any other day he would talk about how nice Gambino's family seemed... small talk, all that. But not today, right now he was too curious about this particular action as he nibbles on the brownie, "You don't seem too worried, for a guy waking up in a hospital handcuffed to the bed." he takes another bite of the small cake, "Mmm.. these are really good, by the way"

"Hey Kistrev, rise n shine buddy!"
The next few words that got through the appartment door to Jake where all vaguely rude and muffled..
"well no need to take that tone eh? just get your lazy feline tail down out here... shift starts in twenty..."
Kistrev heaved himself from the couch-bed and stumbled into the shower, before fumbling with his keys and stepping out into the cold, dank stairwell of the Romano appartments...
"well, good mornin to ya!"
"shurrup Jake"
"oh, ladi-da.. sorry mister immigrant... c'mon youre the one with the car now, save my feet from walkin eh?"
Kistrev yawned before grunting his approval as the pair stepped out into the cold bleak New york morning sunshine...

Spike laughed. "Between you and I, it's not the first time it's happened to me." He said, lifting his left arm, having it stop from the restraint. "However, the last time it happened, I had some dangerous men after me and probably still do given the events played out earlier today." He said looking down and away saddened. "The thing is, Agent Kaelin, that there is a good chance that news of me being here has already reached the press and at this moment, they could be on their way here right now to finish the job. My boss has probably sent someone to confirm my condition as well and to 'babysit' if you will. He's a good fella, I think you guys would get along." Spike looked back down at the handcuffs. "Do you really think these are nessessary? I don't think I'll be going anywhere soon." He said looking down at his leg in a cast.

Jay narrows his eyes at the fox in the bed, "How did you know my name?" the rabbit had made absolutely sure not to mention his name around Gambino, and all the officers knew better than to reveal that. He sighed, "I'm not taking any risks after that stunt that you pulled, getting away from me earlier, especially now that I know that one of your 'colleagues' is visiting." He sits back down in the chair by the bed, "Also, I can't see him being a particularly 'good guy' if he runs with our gang, or any of the gangs for that matter, all you do is make the lives of truly good people miserable."

Spike smirked. " You really aren't from around here. You've done your research, I've done mine. I don't make lives miserable, that's a matter of opinion. I don't push those around, Agent Kaelin, those who push me are pushed back. This city ain't no Chicago. What happens over there is run by girls dressed for the part. You see, son, you think you and your boys in blue think you run the city. You don't, we do. Who do you honestly think runs the legal system around here? Politicians over in Washington? No. The Commission does. You may want to stop wasting your time with me, young man, because I won't be under arrest much longer." There was a knock at the door. A wolf in a black overcoat stepped inside, taking off his hat. The wolf looked at Jay then looked back at Spike. "Mr. Gambino, my name is Mark Rigazzi, Angelo sent me. It's good to see that you're ok." He looked at Jay again. "Angelo sends his regards. He also sent you these." He snapped his fingers and two men walked through the door holding a mass vase of flowers, leaving quickly after setting it down next to the bed. Spike smiled. "Tell Angelo I send many thanks..." Spike looked at Jay, "and I don't think I'll have any trouble right now." Mark nodded, looking at Jay with mistrust. "I will, Mr. Gambino. If you need anything, I'll be right outside." He nodded at Soike before turning to leave, taking a final look at Jay when he opened the door and disappeared through it. Spike looked at the tall vase of flowers and then back at Jay. "That must have been him."

Jay sighed, "Your deluding yourself Spike, all this - this 'Commission', this supposed 'control' you've built up, all of it - is going to be ripped out from under your feet, and when that day comes, you'd better be ready, 'cause this Commission and all the families, are gonna come tumbling down around you. Don't get it into your heads that you are in control of this city, you're all just petty criminals and one day, one day real soon, you'll turn on each other." He doesn't have to mention that the first evidence of that had just happened earlier that night, with the failed drive-by. The rabbit glares at the doorway that the wolf had just left through, "Yep, nice guy, I can see why you'd think we'd get along" his voice drips with sarcasm.
