Defence field corvette:

huge shield generator (the thing is practically JUST one big shield gen)
used to support larger ships, the defence field corvette, or DF corvette, hides behind larger ships and fires up a large shield affect, this last appoximately 30 seconds, during which time 90% of all kinetic and ballistic fire cannot pass through, and 50% of all energy weapons are stopped.... after this the defence field must shut down to be recharged for 30 seconds, though this time seems short, enemy captains learn to use this time to take them or the ships they acompany out....
pulsar beam platform:
engines: none
weapons: two twin pulsar cannons, reasonable rate of fire, fires short 'pulses' of energy
crew: none, fully automated
the pulsar beam platform is hyperjumped in ahead of a main force, there, often supported by DF corvettes, they soften up a target... raking the nemies hull with multiple crossfires of pulsar beams.. .which on their own are not very powerfull... but when the AI is linked together and they mass firepower from 3 or more platforms, these stationary little 'turrets' can wreak havoc....
Blazing wing: contains a single DF corvette, which also acts as the command ship for the whole formation.... this ship take sno part in the fighitng and often hangs back bheind the platforms.... it also contains 6 pulsar platforms in two groups of 3.... these all share a linked AI and are programmed to focus fire on a single target.... all the platforms have a one shot hyperdrive, once they arrive they cannot move wihout refueling... the DF corvette can hyperjump again leaving the platforms to continue fighitng without it....
