Friends and furry you

Today In class i tried telling my friend i was a furry, The dialogue went something like this.

Me: Hey dude, know what a furry is?
Him: Yeah those [censored]? (I'm not gay so this really didn't offend me)
Me: Yeah, sure. I saw them on YouTube. So who are they? (I was trying to cover up. I was really hoping he just would have said Yeah)
Him: Well their crazy, they think their animals, [censored]. (At this point my face was starting to get red.)
Me: Yeah, crazy.

Then I just turned away, and didn't speak to him the rest of the day.
I was insulted and about to rant off to him, but now that I know my friends are Anti-furry, I'm not sure how I'm going to break it to them..

Maybe your friends won't be anti-furry if you tell them you are one.  One of my friends used to be anti-furry until I told him I was one.  His mood about it completely changed after I told him that.

Still, If i tell them they probably wont understand (im only 14, and they're very immature for freshmen, very..) But hey, im new to being a furry, i still dont know very much I dont even have a fursona yet.

Oh I see.  I'm a senior so my friends have at least some level of maturity.  Enough to know what to say and what not to say.  And it took me a while to finally determine that my fursona is a raccoon.  I used to think I was a fox .

I told my friends when I was a junior that I was a furry.  They all took it well except for one of them who is constantly telling me to yiff in hell   Fortunately though I hardly ever see him anymore.

Thats nice that everything turned out okay, im usally shy in public, so maybe by the time im a junior ill have enough gutts to tell my closest friends, however I go to a prep school, and some of the kids there are rumor junkies, and that means grade 6-12 would know im a furry. and from the sign of it nobody else is a furry at my school... also the kids would twist the story of me being a furry.

If they can't accept you for who you are, then they're not very good friends.

Sorry, I really don't mean to be rude by saying that. That's just how I feel, and I hope you don't take offense to it.

I guess solitude is my thing because I've been alone for so long, but I'd rather
be alone and myself than surrounded by peoples and feign what I'm not.

I told all my friends and they're all aright with it, even if they joke around about it.
You may need some new friends, if they don't accept you for who you are.

Today, in my math class I somehow told a friend I was a furry, here's the conversation
Me: Hey I bet I know a word that you dint!
Her: Sure, what is it?
Me: Anthropomorphic
Her: It means giving human like quailitys to living, nonhuman things, the people that do that are usally called furrys
Me: Yeah, how do you know about furrys?
Her: Deviantart, The drawing are so cute! But I hate the furry haters.
Me: Same, if you dont like it, dont look at it, you know what I mean?
Her: Yep
Me: So are you a furry?
Her: What do you mean?
Me: Like draw em and stuff.
Her: Yeah, well I dont really draw them..
Me: Well I sorta am.
Her: Oh cool, like em?
Me: Yeah, Im still sorta new to em though.

Well It went something like that so, It feels good to get that off my chest!
