i want to know, should i tell my parents who i am?  i mean being a furry is a nice feeling, knowing that i belong in the world but what if they don't understand?

I haven't told my parents.  I might if they ever asked about the "strange" habbits I have, but they never have.  I've told all my friends and they all seem fine with it.  It's really up to you whether or not you tell anybody, but I can tell you from my experience that it feels great telling somebody about it and not keeping it to yourself.

Post Merge: December 01, 2009, 11:18:15 PMive made my decision: i have a adolescent guy councellor thing. i think i will tell him first. get the load( and excitement beating heart and adrenaline) off my chest. then slowly work the courage to tell my parents. although no way they would let me wear a fursuit. good idea?

I draw fursonas for free, but it may take awhile. You can count on me!
I wouldn't tell my parents myself because even though I'm proud to be a fur, I would probally be kicked out for it, and I wouldn't have anywhere to go. Tell them if they seem like they'd take it well, because like Philly said, its better to not keep things secret, especially from your family.

Telling parents is difficult, it all depends on how open they are. Me I'm 26, I've been a furry for at least 10 years now and I JUST told my mom. You have to be prepared to take what you get as a reaction from them.

lolz. ive been asking around at my school about their take on furs. not the worst answers. although a kid said he thinks they are *ahem* hilarious. meh who cares right?

Oh yea, I saw that episode.  I'm still trying to figure out if the guy actually thought he was going to make love to an actual bear, or a person in a bear costume.  That's what shrooms do to you.
